The tables in the NR99TABL.TXT file show the formats that will be used in
forthcoming BEA gross domestic product (GDP) news releases beginning with the
third quarter 1999 preliminary release to be posted on November 24.  These
tables incorporate the changes introduced in BEA's 1999 comprehensive revision
of the national income and product accounts.

RELEASE DATE: November 15, 1999.

DESCRIPTION OF FILES:  This release includes 2 files.

1.  README.TXT:  This file (ASCII).

2.  NR99TABL.TXT: This ASCII file contains sample tables for all of the revised
GDP news release tables.  The sample tables present the second quarter 1999
final estimates, using the format from the newly released comprehensive
revision.

NOTES:

1.  The dates for quarters in the table boxheads will continue to employ
two-digit years.  Thus, the column headers for the four quarters of the year
2000 will be displayed as I 00, II 00, III 00, and IV 00.

2.  The second sentence of footnote 1 for table 12 currently states that,
"Effective with the estimates scheduled for release on March 30, 2000, the
current-dollar product will be deflated by a chain-type price index calculated
using gross product price indexes for each nonfinancial industry."  This
part of the footnote may be revised, following the introduction of the new
deflation procedure.

3.  Stubs (line titles) in table 3 have been shortened to permit widening the
data fields in that table.
