PRN (print) files usually are PS (PostScript) or EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) files. These files contain page description language that defines how the page will be printed. To use a PRN file in a program other than your browser, do this:

  • Save the file to your hard drive using the file menu of your browser.
  • Open the file in a different program.
    • If you use a word processing program, it may be necessary to change some settings so the data will appear in a convenient form; for example, change the paper to legal landscape or use a smaller font.
    • If you use a spreadsheet, all the data will appear in one column, so you will have to "parse" (divide) the data into appropriate columns. After that you will be able to manipulate the data.
