When does the change to survey reporting requirements for private funds become effective?

The change will be implemented beginning with surveys conducted in 2017:

  • First quarter 2017 report for the Quarterly Survey of U.S. Direct Investment Abroad (BE-577) and the Quarterly Survey of Foreign Direct Investment in the United States (BE-605) and all survey periods thereafter
  • Transactions completed on or after 1/1/2017 for the Survey of New Foreign Direct Investment in the United States (BE-13)
  • Annual report covering fiscal year 2016 for the Annual Survey of U.S. Direct Investment Abroad (BE-11) and the Annual Survey of Foreign Direct Investment in the United States (BE-15) and all survey periods thereafter
